I welcome visitors to the Zoo with the most enjoyable encounter and they love taking selfies with me.
Giraffes like me are, undisputedly, one of the tallest animals that walk the earth. I measure about 4.5 meters in height and I weigh about 1,200 kg, while my husband called Jumbo weighs 1,600 kg. I feed on plants, also known as herbivores, and my favorite is clover, a delicious flowering grass. Another one of my favorites to nibble on is delicious juicy carrots. What makes our food even more tasty is that the Zoo makes sure the food they feed us is always fresh and of the best quality.
Feeding me and spending time around other wildlife are the top things visitors enjoy the most. I love it when I meet little children who cheer in joy when I head to them to pick up carrot pieces from their little hands to feed me. I also like that they rush to take selfies with me to post on their social media accounts for their friends and family to see.
You can find us in three locations at the Zoo, namely the Giraffe Feeding area, the African exhibit and the Al Ain Safari. The interactive feeding experience can be enjoyed at the Giraffe Feeding area and during the safari tours. This tour is the most popular and enjoyable animal experience for visitors who come here.
You can witness us huddle up around our feeding station when we are called by our caregivers with a ring of a bell, which is an exciting part of our day and a joyful sight for our visitors as well.
