LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY PARTNERSHIP

is a protected area with the largest density of wildlife in Kenya and is home to several threatened species found in Al Ain Zoo’s collection. It has one of the largest populations of Grevy’s zebra, 10% of the world’s Black Rhino, Due to our mutual interests Al Ain Zoo established a formal partnership with Lewa in 2013 focusing on important monitoring and research projects.

THE SAHARA CONSERVATION FUND

is the foremost non-profit organization working to conserve the wildlife and habitats of the Sahara Desert and its bordering grasslands. Al Ain Zoo is safeguarding globally important breeding populations of these species at the Zoo. This over lapping interest of conserving arid land wildlife makes SCF and Al Ain Zoo natural partners and we have had a formal partnership since 2006.

EWS

EMIRATES WILDLIFE SOCIETY

is a non-profit organization established in UAE since 2001. The mission is to work with people and institutions within the UAE and the region to conserve biodiversity, tackle climate change and reduce the UAE’s ecological footprint. Al Ain Zoo has been a platinum member of EWS-WWF since 2012 to help support their important initiatives. It also provides opportunities for Al Ain Zoo and EWS-WWF to work together to conserve the species and natural habitats of the UAE.

a part of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN-SSC), the world’s oldest and largest global environmental organization with more than 200 government members, including the UAE and 900 non-government organizations. The IUCN programme 2013–2016 aims to help communities working for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, strengthen equity and reduce poverty for the sake of both our planet and its people.
